MEETINGS HELD ON AUG 31, 2002 at the
SANTA CLARA MARRIOTT
Executive board at
6:00p.m.:
Meeting was called to
order by the Chairman at 6:06p.m.
Members in attendance were:
Shelley Baker, Robert Waroff, Perry Siu, PJ Slater, Josie Rozzelle, Robert
Shawler, Melanie Rozzelle, Penny Moyce, Darcie Fellows-Hansen, Patty Shipman,
Jennifer Shipman, Maria Ohlson and Mike Guzman.
Motion to approve the minutes
from the June 1st meeting.

State Chair’s Report:
*USAG is not mailing the Rules
& Policies. It will be online or mailed upon request.
*Skill Evaluators will no longer be required to
register gymnasts to compete.
*USAG will no longer handle
membership problems. Contact our State
Chair, Jennifer Shipman if you have any problems, questions or concerns.
*Comments regarding the new
compulsory routines will be accepted by Neil Resnick up to Dec. 1st.

NAWGJ State Director’s
Report:
*Judges Cup was a great
success! A lot new of new judges
participated. Yeah!
*L/7 National Judges Cup
Qualifier meet will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at SJSU. (to be hosted by CSC)
The actual Judges Cup will be in Maryland.
There will be a L/8-10 critique on Sunday, Dec. 15th.
*The annual judges/coaches
clinic will be on Dec. 7&8 in Stockton.
Zone Rep Reports:
*Zone meet host update:
1 Oroville Gymnastics
2 Davis Gymnastics
3 Byers – Sac.
4 Redwood Empire
5 TBA
6 Cal West
7 San Mateo
8 Elite
9 CCGI
*Zone reps will be tracking
all gymnasts and levels in each club in their respective zones. They will also be checking in on their zone
championship host.
NorCal Special Awards:
*Nominations and votes were
very minimal. There was discussion on
how to get more involvement.
Old Business:
*The NorCal roster will be
out by end of October, pending on how quickly clubs get their registration
forms with updated information to zone reps and how fast that info is relayed
to the Secretary. The handbook is
currently being revised and will be out soon.
First priority being will be given to the roster.
*There was a discussion about
sending the minutes and other NorCal information to its members by email.
Proposal: Change the NorCal membership application to
include email addresses to be used as the main avenue for receiving NorCal
information. Seconded. PASSED.
New Business:
*There was a discussion about
the possibility of NorCal bidding to host a U.S. Classic meet, possibly for the
2004 season.
