Welcome to the Nor Cal Home page! These pages are part
of an on going project subsidized by the Northern California Women's Gymnastics
Association. Their purpose is to provide information about Nor Cal and the sport
of Artistic Gymnastics for our members and the gymnastics community at large.
You'll find lots of Nor Cal specific information here as well as links to many
other gymnastics resources out on the Net. These pages will be under
construction for some time, so check back often!
If you have any questions or input of any kind,
just e-mail us at bjcorr@sonic.net or bill@gymtowne.com

As many of you already know, Michael Guzman, Coach, Program
Director, former Gym Owner, past NorCal Chair, representative of GymWare,
coordinator of Senior Videos and Tumble Bus extraordinaire, is currently
fighting Stage IV Tonsillar Cancer. His family is working hard to
keep him comfortable and at a weight that allows him to continue treatment. In order to accomplish this, Natalie, his wife, has had to send the kids
to live with her parents in Texas. During this incredibly
difficult time, the family is receiving support from Mike's gym families for
food and comfort, but they need money to help pay all the extra bills -
especially covering the costs to get back and forth to Texas. Anyone who would like to donate is welcome to go directly to a local B of A
and make a deposit using this info:
Funds for the Guzman Family: account number: 00077 69887 at
any Bank of America.
or
he/she can send a check for deposit at:
Erinn VanderMeer (San Francisco Gymnastics)
in trust of Michael Guzman
512 Webster Street
Petaluma, CA 94952
All donations are considered a gift and are not tax-deductible.

2009 California Summer Games
Saturday-Sunday July 18-19
At Toby Wells YMCA in San Diego, California
California State Games is a statewide
amateur sports festival that is a grass roots program of the United States
Olympic Committee. Our tournament is the only State Championship in
California where northern and southern gymnastic teams can compete against one
another. What our athletes remember the most is our Opening Ceremonies hosted at
Qualcomm Stadium, home of the San Diego Chargers. Opening Ceremonies is an
event when all athletes, parents, and coaches gather to share in the spectacle
and pageantry of the Games. Last year we had over 25,000 spectators! The
athletes get to march in a parade through the tunnel onto the field and watch
tons of entertainment and the lighting of the torch. This is the night when
every athlete is treated like an Olympian.
